Sling Help

What is the Freerider Co. Sling made from?

The material for all our wraps is 100% Tencel, exceptionally soft and much more lightweight and breathable than any other material in babywearing. We absolutely love this fabric for its strength and softness but also because of its amazing sustainable properties and the conscious way it is made. Our wraps are also Oeko-Tex certified.

Where can I get help with tying my sling?

Our instructional booklet (included with your wrap) is the ultimate guide to go over the step by step instructions on how to tie your baby wrap. It typically takes a little practice to get used to but after a couple of goes you'll have the hang of it in no time. You can also check out our tutorials page and feel free to send us videos or photos to  support@freeriderco.com should you need further assistance in tying your wrap.

My sling is too loose or too tight how do I fix this?

Our sling should feel completely secure for your baby and should be comfortable for you! When you are tying your wrap, as you go to make the cross on the front of your body, make sure this bit is a little tighter and the cross sits just a little higher on your body. As this is where the baby sits, having this tighter will stop them from slipping down too much.

What is the minimum and maximum weight ranges of the sling?

Our wraps are suitable for newborns although we advise a minimum weight of 8lbs and a maximum weight limit of 30lbs. You'll typically get most use out of your wrap in the first 6-9 months.

When can I start using my sling and for how long can I use it?

You can start using your wrap on the day your baby is born, as long as they weigh at least 8lbs. If your baby is smaller, we recommend checking with your doctor before carrying in any carrier.

Can I wear my baby facing forwards or on my back in the sling?

Unfortunately, our wraps are only safety tested for inward facing carrying, so we don't recommend carrying your baby facing outwards.

Is my sling machine washable?

Yes, it can be machine washed at 30 degrees as that is best for the delicate fabric (and the planet!) but please hang dry, do not tumble dry. Washing instructions are also included with the wrap.

Product and Fit

Are all your products sustainable?

Yes! The way Tencel is sourced and in the way it is made, make it the leading fibre in terms of sustainability in babywearing. All our fabrics are Oekotex Certified. Oekotex Certification means there is no trace of any chemicals on the finished production of any of our fabrics. Tencel fibres are certified as compostable and biodegradable, with virtually no waste in the production process leading to a much lower carbon footprint than traditional fabrics.

Whats the best way to get an idea of fit for your S, M and L products?

Most people have a good idea what their measurements are and what size works best, but in case you're struggling each of our product pages has a size chart to help.
